Sociable WordPress Plugin Brings Good Blog Traffic

sociablestats.jpgI just installed the Sociable plugin for Wordpress (what I use for this blog) and I’m pretty happy with the results. After installing the plugin, it will put a bunch of tiny candy like icons at the bottom of each post. Click on each icon and it will take you to one of the many social bookmarking sites to submit your post. Some of the sites include digg, furl, blinklist and reddit just to name a few.
If you take a look at the graph to your left you can see the spike in traffic after submitting one of my articles. So far it seems like I got the most traffic from Newsvine. The cool thing is someone saw this article and posted it in the macrumors forum - so a small viral effect is taking place.

Now I will say it does look a bit obnoxious having 25 little icons under each post, so I may have to cut back and only include the more popular ones. This is an easy fix. I simply go into the admin and uncheck the ones I don’t want to use.

I’m not sure if there is a similar plugin/add-on for other blog platforms, so if anyone knows drop me a line or leave a comment and I’ll post it up here.

    Hello!

I installed Wordpress on my server, and set up a site. It’s a relly nice piece of software. However, I am missing a piece of functionality, and

couldn’t find a suitable answer for it. Mayou you know a plugin I could use?I need to automatically inserts ads in my posts. And not AdSense ads, but rather HTML snippets defined by me (affiliate links, etc). Let’s say I would insert a tag in my post:
    – ad here –
and the plugin would automatically replace it with some HTML code, when the post is displayed on my site.I really don’t need any fancy configuration options etc, just the basic replace functionality.
Do you know a plugin that can handle this?

  6. BlogRush Traffic Exchange Widget Says:

I’m just wondering how people feel about using blog traffic exchange tools such as the new BlogRush tool recently put out by Internet Marketing legend John Reese.

The tool is fairly new and many of the promised features aren’t available yet as of this posting, but the tool is smart enough to keep the posts it advertises related to theme of your blog.

I’d be interested in hearing about other people’s experience with the tool as a way of driving more traffic to your blog.
